About Moo Bong Ri

If you’re someone who loves discovering cozy neighborhood spots with real personality, let me introduce you to Moo Bong Ri, a Korean restaurant tucked away at 4390 Telegraph Ave STE #K in Oakland, California. The first thing that stands out about Moo Bong Ri is how effortlessly it blends comfort and authenticity, making it feel welcoming whether you’re a longtime fan of Korean food or just starting to explore it. I usually describe it as the kind of place where you can relax, take your time, and enjoy food that feels familiar yet exciting. The vibe leans casual and unpretentious, which honestly makes the whole experience better, especially when you’re meeting friends or grabbing a laid-back meal after a long day. Moo Bong Ri offers flexible service options like dine-in, takeaway, delivery, and even outdoor seating, so it fits easily into whatever kind of day you’re having. Sometimes you want to sit and soak in the atmosphere, while other times you just want comforting Korean food brought straight to your door, and this place makes both feel easy. The menu focuses on satisfying comfort food, the kind that warms you up and keeps you coming back, and it pairs really well with their selection of alcohol and beer. I often find that having a cold beer alongside rich, savory dishes adds an extra layer of enjoyment, especially when you’re sharing plates and conversation. What I appreciate most about Moo Bong Ri is how it feels rooted in the local Oakland food scene while still staying true to Korean flavors and traditions. It doesn’t try too hard to be trendy, and that confidence comes through in both the atmosphere and the food. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual dinner, planning a relaxed outdoor meal, or ordering in for a night at home, Moo Bong Ri consistently delivers an experience that feels genuine, comforting, and easy to enjoy.

Popular Korean food. They are known for the blood sausage. We came on a Monday at the opening time 4:30. No wait. We had both hot soup and cold noodles. All great. They also seals the to g o containers so no leak. I thought that is very thoughtful touch. Small parking g lot, but lots of street parking.

Amazing food, amazing service as usual. Get the spicy soondae soup. Make sure to come early on weekends to skip the line, there could be a wait on weekday nights. The menu is quite expansive but every item is worth trying! This is one of the few places in the Bay area that has gamjatang

I had a nice dining experience here. Had the spicy beef soft tofu soup, garlic pork belly wraps and a few sojus. The food portions were larger than expected. The prices were reasonable. Wide variety of dishes in their menu that are harder to find at other Korean restaurants. Service was exceptional given it was a full house.

You know you’re in the right place as soon as you notice that the utensils and dishes are toxin-free metals, good for you, good for the environment! Then come the appetizers, including rice (which would have been enough for my solo weekday lunch outing). They are gracious when it comes to portions, so a group outing is best suited for this experience. I ordered the Spicy Beef Short Rib Soup, perfect for a cold day. It arrived in a large metal bowl, and the soup is beautiful with its vibrant red color. I’m no expert in Korean food, but whether you call it Korean or simply good food, it’s excellent from the colors to the taste in your mouth. It’s just perfect. Well worth the $25 lunch with two large ribs floating in the soup. Surely a must-try place!

This was my first time here the and I was looking for soup and Bossam. The Seol Leong Tang was good and tasty and the Bossam with Garlic was a huge portion, but the garlic was a bit overkill for me. The garlic tasted very mild in flavor and slightly sweet. Nor what I was expecting, so I should have ordered the regular Bossam. It was a good experience overall.

Fantastic cooking skills with truly fresh ingredients. Particularly recommend the Nakgopse Authentic Korean food. Clean. Fast service. Great vibe. Excellent kimchi quality. Will come back.

One of my favorite eats in the bay , it never disappoints. The food is always incredibly flavorful, fresh, and consistently delicious. The portions are great for the price. I have eaten here around 5 times and i must always get a different soup to try. The staff is very attentive. Sometimes the wait can be long on a weekend or with a bigger party. The literal only downside to this establishment is the parking lot gets full and has an awkward exit/entrance. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic, consistently great Korean food in Oakland!
